I guess I should do a vendor review for the moving process, since we have had a lot of experience with various companies lately.
Southern Trust Mortgage Company - A++
Beyond outstanding. We told them our previous experience with Metlife and STMC went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of. They called us daily with any updates to loan processing and really made sure every little thing was filled in correctly. They were super friendly, professional, and closing was actually a really fun process. We were in and out of closing in about 20 minutes which was phenomenal.
2 Marines and a Truck - Also A++
These guys were absolutely amazing and I will always use them for future moves. Bryan was my main point of contact and he made me feel so at ease about the whole process. There was no fee for cancellation or rescheduling and they were very understanding about all the little snags that can (but didn't) come up with closing and moving. The day of the move they arrived about 10 minutes early and wow were they 3 big freaking dudes! You could tell these guys were Marines, but they were also incredibly friendly, and even gave my dog a treat after she spent 3 hours barking at them. They loaded all of our monster furniture in record time and did not break a single thing or scratch anything. When we got to the house they took only 30 minutes to unload and again were just amazing.
This company was definitely a godsend throughout this whole process, and I will spread the joy they gave me forever.
Budget Truck - B
We went with Budget because they were the only company who could give us a pick-up time prior to 24 hours out, and who had a drop-off location in our new city. However the customer service lady at pick-up talked for about an hour about every ticket she got, every move she went on, and every movie she saw. Ok lady, I have to move now, and the earliest we could pick up the truck was 1, let's shut it and get a move on ok?
They also charged us $20 more than on my reservation, which I forgot to print out.
But it's ok, because *knock on wood* we're not moving again for a long long time!
