Nursery evolution - Day 1 (plus random stuff)

Oh boy, have we got our work cut out for us! Today I ventured into the now chinchilla/sewing room to begin it's transformation into the nursery. The plan for right now is to clean, organize, and get rid of stuff as I move it into the old nursery/now sewing and chinchilla room.

The room is already a bit of a disaster zone. It's the catch all for my random stuff as well as the chinchilla zone. It is a good 5' larger than our other room thanks to the small alcove on the right side which is why we are thinking it will be a better nursery.

Hello disaster zone (and dog, she was helping). We are planning on taking the top set of cubbies and turning it sideways so that is long and short and then filling baskets with baby stuff. The lower cubbies will go into the other room and continue to hold all of my yarn and stuff. Scott wants to repaint the walls and calls that color "baby poop yellow". I think it's fine and don't want to repaint, seeing as how he didn't paint it in the first place and I'm sick of painting the house. It's "honey sand" according to the swatch anyway.

Here is the closet. It's actually much bigger than it looks and dad and I have worked out an awesome plan for making it hold a ton of stuff. There is about 6" between the edge of the closet and the edge of the door, so that space is going to be filled with 4 shelves and clothes rods on both sides. This will give good space for all of those little things like bottles, unopened packages, and whatever else little stuff happens to find its way ito the nursery. Then I'm going to get a small hanging shoe organizer "thing" similar to the brown one already in there but smaller, cut in half, and use that for all the little clothes, cloths, bibs, etc.
(More to come later, blogger and my computer are not getting along right now)
